Join the Friends of the Sachse Public Library from 6 to 8 p.m. May 19 for Author Con. This event is a celebration of local authors ranging from children’s picture books to young adult, inspirational nonfiction and thriller fiction novels. Books will be available for purchase, cash or check only. Refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity to win some of the author’s books in a drawing. As you visit, you will have a chance to talk with the authors, socialize with friends, and discover the services the Sachse Public Library has to offer. Check the library website for details about the attending authors.

The Summer Story Time Club 2015 theme is Every Hero has a Story. In honor of our local heroes, we will be hosting special story times in the month of May. The animal shelter will be featured May 21. Members of the fire and police department were previously recognized.

Summer Reading Club kickoff event will be from 10 to noon June 6 in the city amphitheater.

There will be face painting, a bounce house, snow cones, music, miniature horses, a fire truck and the Sachse Radio Club. Music by Rockin’ with Rhett! Sign up for the reading program and pick out your first book.
