Soccer has always been a big sport at Sachse, and the 2015 season was no different.

On the boys’ side, the Mustangs returned to the postseason for the first time in many years, a trip that ended with first-round loss to Belton.

Meanwhile, the Lady Mustangs stampeded their way to another district title, and advanced to the regional semifinals before falling to Hendrickson.

The accomplishments of each team didn’t go unnoticed by the 11-6A All-District voters, who included many members of both squads in their selections.

The Lady Mustangs earned several individual accolades, which included Kristen Campbell being named Coach of the Year. Junior Cyera Hintzen was the Most Valuable Player, while fellow junior Jordie Harr was the Offensive MVP.

The other individual awards went to Rockwall freshman Kayla Campbell (Defensive MVP), Rowlett junior Bri Arnold and Rockwall sophomore Katie Givens (co-Midfielders of the Year), Rockwall senior Sydney Smither (Goalkeeper of the Year), Rowlett sophomore Emily Heidman (Newcomer of the Year) and Tyler Lee freshman Kourtney Hitchcock (Utility Player of the Year).

Sachse first-team selections were junior defender Kirsten Siragusa, sophomore defender Abigail Westin, junior midfielder Ally Warren and senior goalkeeper Bri Phillips. The second-team choices were junior midfielder Kasey Sorbers, freshman midfielder Caitlyn McDonald, sophomore defender Alyssa Guzman and sophomore midfielder Emily Brown.

Junior midfielder Kayla McKeon and sophomore midfielder Sabrina Reyes earned honorable mention status.
