Sachse’s Lady Mustangs once again were well represented in the All-District selections, with seven players being named either to the first or second team, and two earning individual accolades.

Freshman Savana Williamson proved to be a vital component in Sachse’s run to the postseason, and for her efforts the Lady Mustang second baseman was named the 11-6A Newcomer of the Year.

Junior teammate Shanna McBroom was the co-Defensive Player of the Year along with junior Rockwall shortstop Dani Greenlee.

Making the first team were senior pitcher Peyton Shugart and junior first baseman Emilee McDonald, while five others — junior utility player Tess Gibbs, junior shortstop Mikala Douglas, senior third baseman Mackenzie McCullough, junior outfielder Victoria Ochoa and senior outfielder Carley McCullough — made the second team.

Earning honorable mention status were sophomore Lauren Lutrell, as well as seniors Stacy Smith and Ashley Hunter.

Not only did the Lady Mustangs excel on the field, but many also did so in the classroom, resulting in Academic All-District honors. Earning those were Williamson, Lynzi Carroll, Lutrell, Gibbs, McBroom, McDonald, Shugart, Smith, Hunter and Nicole Border.

Rockwall, the 11-6A champ, dominated the individual accolade division: senior first baseman Bailey Wallace (MVP), senior pitcher Emily Cowan (Pitcher of the Year), senior catcher Hayley Baker (Offensive Player of the Year) and Shadie Acosta (Coach of the Year).

The remaining first-team selections were:

  • Lakeview Centennial — junior outfielder Bailey Wellborn.
  • Tyler Lee — senior first baseman Brittany Hogge, senior pitcher Makenna Aycock and sophomore third baseman Chelsea Robinson.
  • Rowlett — sophomore center fielder Alex Kalldin, senior pitcher Bri Sims, sophomore catcher Victoria Rodriguez, sophomore third baseman Kendyl Dockter and sophomore catcher Payton Sabolski.
  • Rockwall — junior right fielder Alyssa Henry, senior left fielder Kindal Sauter, senior center fielder Peyton Mills and junior third baseman Shelbi Court.
