Constitutional Amendments across the state of Texas were overwhelmingly approved.

These amendments include:

Proposition 1 increases the homestead exemption from $15,000 to $25,000. In Collin County, 48,853 (92.14 percent) voters cast ballots for the amendment and 4,166 (7.86 percent) cast votes against the amendment.

Proposition 2 extends a property tax exemption to the surviving spouse of a totally disabled veteran who died before 2010. Throughout the county, 49,710 (94.52 percent) voters cast ballots for the amendment and 2,882 (5.48 percent) cast votes against the amendment.

Proposition 3 repeals the requirement that certain statewide officers live in Austin. In Collin County, 37,355 (71.78 percent) voters cast ballots for the amendment and 14,685 (28.22 percent) cast votes against the amendment.

Proposition 4 permits professional sports teams to conduct charitable auctions. Throughout the county, 35,647 (68.54 percent) voters cast ballots for the amendment and 16,360 (31.46 percent) cast votes against the amendment.

Proposition 5 allows counties with fewer than 7,500 people to provide private road maintenance. In Collin County, 45,046 (86.73 percent) voters cast ballots for the amendment and 6,891 (13.27 percent) cast votes against the amendment.

Proposition 6 includes in the Constitution the right to hunt and fish. Throughout the county, 43,014 (82.24 percent) voters cast ballots for the amendment and 9,292 (17.76 percent) cast votes against the amendment.

Proposition 7 diverts $2.5 billion or more of sales tax revenue from the General Fund to the State Highway Fund. In Collin County, 45,989 (87.51 percent) voters cast ballots for the amendment and 6,562 (12.49 percent) cast votes against the amendment.

In Collin County, out of 489,820 registered voters, 53,773 cast ballots, or about 11 percent.
