Wylie police investigating murder-suicide

The Wylie Police Department is investigating a murder-suicide after dispatch received a call at approximately 7:30 a.m. this morning.

According to reports, a call was received from a male subject in the 3600 block of Catalpa stating that he had shot a female and was threatening suicide.

Police reported that a relative inside the residence advised he heard shots inside the home and was able to exit the residence safely before officers arrived.

The Garland Police Department assisted WPD with a mechanized robot which entered the home and located both the male and female bodies.

The deceased were identified as 59-year-old Samson Young and 54-year-old Elaine Young.

The incident is under investigation as a murder-suicide.
