Fire Chief Rick Coleman announced his retirement from the Sachse Fire Department Jan. 8.

Effective Jan. 11, Deputy Fire Chief Martin Wade, a 27-year veteran from the Plano Fire Department, will serve as Interim Fire Chief for a minimum of 90 days said City Manager Gina Nash.

During that time, the city manager will begin a formal search process with the Human Resource Department to hire a new chief.

“The city appreciates Coleman’s dedication and service to Sachse and the residents over the past three years as Fire Chief and five in service overall to Sachse,” Nash said.
