Like it or not Spring Break is here. If you’re a parent, you’re left with the task of keeping the kids busy with fun things to do.

If your clan loves animals, luckily Wylie is home its own mini zoo of sorts. It’s called In-Sync Exotics. At this nonprofit facility, located just off of Lake Lavon on Skyview Road, visitors will find all sorts of exotic furry residents. Currently there are 9 lions, 28 tigers, 9 cougars, 1 leopard, 2 cheetahs, 11 bobcats, 4 lynx, 4 servals, 1 ocelot, 1 coatamundi and 2 lemurs that call In Sync home. They are lovingly cared for by founder, Vicky Keahey, and a team of dedicated volunteers.

In-Sync recently rescued Runa, a female bobcat who came from a pretty home in Corpus Christi. She will join In-Sync’s 10 other bobcats and serve as a valuable ambassador for her wild cousins. The bobcats are among visitors’ favorites when they come to In-Sync.

The facility, now in its 16th year, keeps on growing, adding more animals and more fun things to keep their “Big kids” busy! Just in time for the warmer weather, the cats of In-Sync now have pools complete in two more of their playground areas.

The Mane Street enclosure’s lions love their new splash pool. Even though lions typically do not play in water, lions Lambert and Rafiki have grown up with access to a pool, and have learned what fun water can be. In the heat of Texas summers, this will also help to keep the big cats cool.
