Nobody went home hungry after attending the annual Men Who Cook event May 6 in the garden of the Hyatt Place Hotel in Garland. The event, sponsored by the Sachse Chamber of Commerce, featured about 20 local dignitaries and community leaders who showcased their favorite recipes as “celebrity chefs.”

The evening featured a wine pull, live and silent auctions, and a cash bar. Mayor Mike Felix was auctioneer for the night. He drew hoots and hollers from the animated crowd while auctioning off five designer handbags. Attendees bid on donated bags from labels such as Dooney and Burke, Coach, Vera Bradley, Anne Klein and Brahmin.
