It was a time of reflection and deep sorrow as members of the police and fire departments, EMS, city employees and officials met at the flagpoles at City Hall in Sachse Friday, July 8 just hours after a sniper killed five police officers and wounded nine others in Dallas.

City Manager Gina Nash opened the brief service addressing the small crowd at noon saying the devastating news still had her in shock. She reminded everyone to take a moment of silence and to pray for the families. She then turning the podium over to Mayor Felix who echoed her sentiments and said, “I thanked God it wasn’t our community.”
