From Staff Reports
A murder warrant has been issued for a 23-year-old Garland man, who’s been identified as a suspect in the June death of Jacinto Torres Hernandez, the Garland Police Department reported.
Anibal Edifredo Chirino Mejia has been identified as a suspect in the killing of Torres, also known as Jay Torres, whose body was found on June 13, the department reported. Investigators believe the death occurred on June 10, police said.
An investigation by Garland homicide detectives, which included coordinating efforts with local, state and federal agencies, reportedly turned up information as to who Torres had been communicating with prior to his death.
It was also reportedly revealed that Torres had lawsuits filed against him in connection with the purchasing of homes, and that Mejia reportedly had intentions of filing a lawsuit against Torres, police said.
Garland homicide detectives are currently working with U.S. marshals to find and arrest Mejia, the police said.
