Eight years ago, 35-year old Katrina Owens received news that would forever change her life. A wife and mom of a kindergartner at that time, she wasn’t thinking breast cancer was in her future, but it was.

She discovered the mass when she was 34, but didn’t actually make it to the doctor until after her birthday a few months later, a fact Katrina is quick to point out, that she isn’t proud of.
