The Sachse Historical Society took attendees on a ride through history, Burlington Railroad history to be exact, at the annual meeting held March 5 in the Charles W. Smith Chapel.
Railroad employees, Rod Kruger and Kyle Hand, were the featured speakers. Their presentation revolved around the history of the railroad caboose and its role in the early days of railroads. Traditionally, caboose were attached to the end of the train and used as kitchen and sleeping quarters for the railroad crews.
