Thanks to the efforts of several community members, Alzheimer’s is closer to gaining a cure.
Oxford Glen Memory Care Residence held a rock-a-thon Thursday, June 13 to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. The event was part of The Longest Day, a worldwide outreach to raise money for Alzheimer’s research.
According to the organization’s website, it has already drawn thousands of participants despite only being in its second year of existence. On the days leading up to the summer solstice – the longest day of the year – activists “come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through an activity of their choice.”
Oxford Glen went with the rock-a-thon for their activity.
