Maxine Oliver is living proof that you can, in fact, teach an old dog new tricks.
The 96-year-old resident of Mustang Creek Estates of Sachse is 30 chapters deep into writing her autobiography, all on a computer that she learned to use as an octogenarian.
Several years ago she learned that her son, aged 50 at the time, didn’t even know where she was born.
“I realized my children had never heard much about me before they came along,” she said. “Your first life kind of disappears after you have kids – your conversation is about them. I guess I didn’t realize my kids knew nothing about their parents.”
And Oliver has quite a story.
