A big win over South Garland at the beginning of winter break turned the page on a rough patch for Coach Zach Mikesell and the Sachse Mustangs. However, after putting up 100 points in the win over the Titans, the guys were looking to continue their momentum in Allen’s Holiday Invitational last week.

The Mustangs opened the event with a 63-53 win over Odessa Permian last Wednesday, Dec. 27. In that one, a trio of early threes put Sachse up 17-10 before the defense took over. In the second frame, the guys surrendered just eight points to grow their advantage to 14 points.
