City announces 2024 property tax rates

by | Aug 22, 2024 | Latest

Earlier this month, the city of Sachse announced its property tax rates for 2024, outlining both the no-new-revenue and voter-approval tax rates.

For the current tax year, the no-new-revenue tax rate is set at $0.683919 per $100 of property value. This rate would generate the same amount of revenue as last year if applied to properties taxed in both years. The voter-approval tax rate is $0.797018 per $100 of property value. This is the maximum rate the city can adopt without holding an election. Both rates are determined by dividing the total amount of taxes by the current taxable value, adjusted as required by state law.
