Water, sewer rate increases recommended for five years

Sachse residents will see changes to their water and sewer rates the next five years, as the projected plan will increase water rates 7% and sewer rates 2% annually until 2029.

Rebecca Schafer, principal consultant with NewGen Strategies, who works with the city to study and forecast utility rates, said the cost of service for water and sewer will rise from $18.8 million in 2025 to $22.6 million in 2029.
