Rejuvenated rushing attack paces Sachse in 43-6 rout of Arlington Lamar

One week after finishing with one rushing yard against Coppell, Sachse’s ground game put up 290 yards in a 43-6 homecoming win over Arlington Lamar on Friday, Sept. 7 at Homer B. Johnson Stadium.

Junior quarterback Dirk Williams ran for two touchdowns in the first half, while senior running back Brendon Haygood led all rushers with 138 yards on 13 carries and a pair of scores.

Sophomore linebacker Walker Williams returned an interception 63 yards for a touchdown with 13 seconds remaining in the second quarter for a 21-6 Mustang advantage.

Sachse (1-1) will play Garland (1-1) at Williams Stadium on Friday, Sept. 13 in the District 9-6A opener for both teams.
