The first council meeting in September was primarily a precursor for the official adoption of next year’s budget and tax rate.
As part the adoption of the 2024-25 (FY25) fiscal year budget, Sachse City Council held a required public hearing last week, Sept. 3, prior to setting a date to adopt the budget.
One citizen, Matthew Holboke, spoke during the public comments and expressed disappointment that his taxes were being raised.
Afterward, council approved adopting the FY 25 budget during next week’s Sept. 16 city council meeting. A vote on the proposed tax rate will also take place at that council meeting.
