Sachse put up three unanswered first-half touchdowns to start its 35-7 win over Garland Lakeview Centennial on Friday night.

The Mustangs would go on to add a 61-yard highlight reel touchdown run and a lights-out defensive performance, delivering an entertaining district win for Sachse fans.

Senior running back Brendon Haygood rushed for 161 yards and one touchdown, while junior quarterback Dirk Williams Jr. threw for three touchdowns.

Although a reinvigorated Patriots team threatened a comeback in the second half, Sachse controlled the flow of the game. Coach Mark “Red” Behrens was pleased with the win but said he is already thinking about next week’s game against Wylie East.
