Wednesday marked the first day during the current school year that student-athletes, other than football, can sign a National Letter of Intent.
Eleven student-athletes from Sachse signed their name on the dotted line in a ceremony that was held in the school’s gymnasium.
Outside hitters Kaelynn Sims (UNLV) and Ia’neiah Spears (Langston University) and setter Emma Blancovich (Hendrix College) of the Sachse volleyball team made it official with their respective college of choice.
Sachse’s girls soccer team also had three student-athletes sign on the dotted line — Gracie Groothuis inked with Missouri Southern State, Melissa Nicolas is bound for Texas A&M-Texarkana and Rylie Williams is headed to Lyon College.
Reigning District 9-6A girls basketball MVP Charish Thompson will take her skill set to George Washington University.
Sachse’s baseball team has two NCAA Division I signees with Chase Thomas (Texas Tech) and Jailen Watkins (University of Miami).
Logan Schultz will play softball for Wayland Baptist.
