Sachse’s Planning & Zoning Commission was scheduled to hold two public hearing during their regular meeting on Jan. 13.

The first public hearing, a change in zoning on Ben Davis Rd, was postponed to the Jan. 27 P&Z meeting at the request of the applicant.

The change would allow zoning on a 1.81 acre tract at 5206 Ben Davis Road to become Neighborhood Shopping District (C-1). The current zoning is Residential-5 District (R-5).

The second public hearing involved amending the written notification requirement of zoning public hearing notices from 1,000 feet out from the property lines to a 200-foot radius around the property lines. City staff stated this change would reduce the number of notifications that were currently required to be mailed to properties within 1,000 feet of a subject property.
