The Sachse City Council is inching toward revamping its pay and benefits schedule for city employees.
During its regular meeting June 16, council members received a detailed report from Sarah Towne, a representative of consulting firm Baker Tilly. Towne outlined several aspects of the firm’s work and said a final recommendation should be ready by the end of July, when the council is expected to consider the city’s next fiscal year budget.
At issue is whether to align city salaries with those paid by neighboring municipalities. Towne assured the council that “no employee will see a reduction in pay” under any plan Baker Tilly presents.
