Sachse Fire-Rescue and N5SAC.org are teaming up to host a free all-day ham radio class and testing session on Saturday, June 28, offering an exciting opportunity for teens, scouts, adults, and retirees to learn about radio communication and earn their FCC Technician license.
The event will be held at the Public Safety Building in Sachse and includes lunch, all-day instruction, and an opportunity to take the FCC exam. Participants do not need to bring equipment—just pencils and a simple calculator. “They need only bring a couple of pencils, and students are allowed a simple calculator with no formulas or storage,” said class instructor Lonnie Webb, who holds the highest amateur license level, Amateur Extra.
