Proposed 2025-26 budget presented, tax rate to remain flat

by | Aug 28, 2025 | Latest

The City of Sachse presented its proposed budget for fiscal year 2025-26 to the City Council on Aug. 18, keeping the property tax rate unchanged at 65.04 cents per $100 valuation.

The proposed budget, delivered Aug. 15, is available online at cityofsachse.com/budget and in print at the City Secretary’s office and library. Councilmembers will review the plan ahead of public hearings and adoption dates in September.

The city’s certified property valuation stands at $4.94 billion. While the voter-approval tax rate is calculated at 79.7 cents and the no-new-revenue rate at 68.4 cents per $100 valuation, staff recommended keeping the current rate flat. City officials said the approach balances maintaining service levels with minimizing the financial impact on residents.
