Public hearing on proposed 2025-26 budget is Sept. 2

by | Aug 28, 2025 | Latest

The City of Sachse will hold a public hearing on its proposed operating budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Sachse City Hall, located at 3815-B Sachse Road.

The proposed budget is expected to raise $1,376,721 more in property tax revenue than last year’s budget, a 4.77 percent increase. Of that amount, $579,687 is projected to come from new property added to the tax roll.

Under the proposed budget, the property tax bill for a median homestead in Sachse would increase from $2,590 to $2,768 — a $178 rise. If the city were to adopt the no-new-revenue rate, the median tax bill would instead be $2,798, an increase of $208 over the current year.

Residents are encouraged to attend the hearing and provide input.

Copies of the proposed budget are available for public review at the City Secretary’s Office and the Sachse Public Library, both located on Sachse Road. The document is also accessible online at www.cityofsachse.com/budget.
