The Sachse City Council called a public hearing to receive comments from residents on the proposed 2025-26 budget, but heard from only one resident, before setting a date of Sept. 15 to adopt the budget and ratify the municipal tax rate for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1.
Sachse resident Jayne Reed spoke to council about reported discrepancies in certain budgeted items. The council did not discuss any of Reed’s concerns and moved directly to set the budget adoption and tax rate ratification for Sept. 15.
The municipal tax rate will remain identical to the current rate of $0.650416 per $100 property valuation. The proposed budget
