Sachse took care of business last week by earning a pair of victories over Garland ISD foes, beginning with a 3-1 triumph (25-16, 25-16, 19-25, 25-12) against North Garland on Tuesday, Sept. 9, and a 3-0 sweep (25-15, 25-14, 25-7) of Garland last Friday.
Against North Garland, Sachse received a team-high 12 kills from senior Raniya Temple-Robinson, followed by eight kills from sophomore Jayla Butler and six each from junior Ella Smith and sophomore Fallin Whitmore. Laney George, a junior, finished with 16 assists, while sophomore Sarah Naidoo had 15 assists. The Lady Mustangs got 20 digs from senior Kennedy Colwell and 17 from senior Shelby Siratt to pace their defensive efforts in the back row.
Against Garland, Temple-Robinson turned in another standout performance with 17 kills and three digs. Smith added five kills and three blocks. Freshman Khloe Ellis added six kills and two blocks. Naidoo dished out 18 assists, complemented by 12 assists from George. Colwell dug out 16 balls to lead Sachse’s defensive efforts in the back row.
Sachse improved to 13-12, 6-0.
