Family fall fun awaits

by | Sep 25, 2025 | Latest

Festivities are brewing in Sachse this October with a National Night Out Pop-Up Park and the return of Fall-O-Ween, offering everything from games to a drone show.

Both events are organized by the city’s parks and recreation department, which is planning family-friendly activities throughout the month.

This year’s National Night Out takes place Tuesday, Oct. 7, with a Pop-Up Park set up from 6 to 8 p.m. at Joe and Patricia Stone Park, 6000 Laurel Crest Lane.

“This will be our second year going out to Joe Stone Park for National Night Out, and we’re excited to be part of the event again,” Recreation Specialist Alex Sendejo said.

The event will feature volleyball and soccer sets, inflatable bowling, giant tic-tac-toe and table tennis. A second Pop-Up Park is scheduled from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at J.K. Sachse Park.

Fall-O-Ween will also return for its second year from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Heritage Park, 4408 Hudson Drive. While the free event will be half the length of last year’s, the 2025 schedule is still packed with activities for the whole family.

The expanded Heritage Park grounds will host a haunted maze, petting zoo, creepy carnival and more. Children are encouraged to wear costumes and bring bags to collect treats from the Trick-or-Treat Vendor Market.

The free cornhole tournament will return along with the witches’ cackling contest, the werewolf howling contest and several categories of costume contests.

A new addition this year will be Sachse’s first drone show. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the show by Aerial Illuminations will light up the sky with 150 drones forming glowing Halloween-themed visuals.

Food and market vendors are encouraged to apply soon as space is limited. For a full list of events and registration information, visit cityofsachse.com/150/parks-recreation.
