Sachse nearly overcame a big deficit Tuesday in a 3-2 road loss (25-21, 26-24, 23-25, 24-26, 15-13) to Naaman Forest.
It was just the second District 9-6A loss for the Lady Mustangs, who fell to 8-2. Sachse retained second place in 9-6A, but is just one game ahead of 7-3 Naaman Forest, while falling two games-behind 10-0 Wylie.
The loss comes four days after Sachse cruised to a 3-0 win (25-12, 25-17, 25-12) over Lakeview Centennial.
Senior Raniya Temple-Robinson and junior Ella Smith each had 14 kills, followed by seven kills each from sophomore Fallin Whitmore and freshman Khloe Ellis.
Junior Laney George dished out 24 assists and added seven digs. Senior Shelby Siratt had 11 digs. Sophomore Sarah Naidoo contributed 17 assists.
Sachse will look to get back into the win column Friday at home against Wylie East (6-4).
