GARLAND – Sachse used big plays on offense and four turnovers on defense to a score a decisive 35-10 District 9-6A victory over winless North Garland on Thursday night at Homer B. Johnson Stadium.
The Mustangs improved to 4-3 overall, 3-2 in district. The Raiders dropped to 0-6, 0-4.
After an early North Garland field goal, Sachse scored two first quarter touchdowns and never looked. The Mustangs had a third quarter score on their first series after halftime and two in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
Senior running backs Roderick Rainwater and Dirk Williams Jr. scored two touchdown each for the Mustangs. Rainwater finished with 116 yards rushing, while Williams Jr. also racked up 116 yards on the ground.
