GARLAND — Sachse scored early and often — and in just about every way possible — in a dominant 52-7 rout of winless South Garland on Friday at Homer B. Johnson Stadium.

The win was never in doubt.

Marcus Rhoden returned the opening kickoff 73 yards for a touchdown, and the Mustangs never looked back.

The rout allowed Sachse to remain tied for second place in District 9-6A.

Sachse improved to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in district play. South Garland fell to 0-8 and 0-7.

In the dominant win, Sachse scored on a kickoff return, recovered a fumble in the end zone, had a 99-yard punt return, and got touchdown runs of 45 and 7 yards by Micah Hill.

Roderick Rainwater finished with 75 receiving yards on two catches to lead Sachse’s receivers. La’Darien Fellows accounted for 53 rushing yards on four carries and one touchdown. Junior quarterback Christian McCaffrey was efficient, completing 11 of 15 passes for 154 yards and one touchdown.
