FORNEY – Sachse delivered a near-perfect second quarter and briefly threatened to pull off a bi-district upset of North Forney on Friday night. But outside of that stretch, the Falcons dominated, using a relentless offensive attack to secure a 42–7 playoff victory at Better Life Stadium.

North Forney (10–1), ranked 22nd statewide in Class 6A, moves on to face Waxahachie next week in the area round. Waxahachie (9-1) overwhelmed Waco Midway, 48-16, in a first-round playoff game, also Friday night.

After falling behind 14–0, the Mustangs clawed back with their best sequence of the night. They marched 80 yards behind the steady play of junior quarterback Christian McCaffrey and receiver Marcus Rhoden, who hauled in a 35-yard third-and-12 conversion and later an eight-yard catch on fourth-and-seven.

Runs by McCaffrey and Roderick Rainwater pushed the ball to the North Forney 2-yard line, and on third down quarterback Dirk Williams Jr. powered across the goal line. Hunter Brinson added the PAT to cut the deficit to 14–7.

Sachse then executed a perfectly placed onside kick, recovered by Collin Deleon, giving the Mustangs another chance. A mix of runs from Ladainian Jones and Rainwater moved the ball to the Falcons’ 13. But on third down, McCaffrey’s pass bounced off Rhoden’s chest and into the arms of a North Forney defender for an interception with 35 seconds left in the half.
