Holiday magic, one stop at a time

by | Dec 18, 2025 | Latest

Rosie and William enjoy a stop on Dixie Circle, one of several locations on this year’s Sachse Trail of Lights, where mild mid-60s temperatures made a barefoot stroll part of the holiday experience.

The holidays are officially shining brighter in Sachse with the launch of the city’s Trail of Lights interactive map and the announcement of winners from the annual Christmas Extravaganza tree decorating contest.

The Sachse Trail of Lights went live last Friday, giving residents a self-guided way to explore 14 of the city’s most festive holiday light displays. The community-driven experience highlights decorated homes throughout Sachse and encourages residents to bundle up, turn on the car radio and enjoy a leisurely drive filled with seasonal sparkle.

Using the interactive map, visitors can plan their own route, view participating locations and explore the displays at their own pace. The map also features several local businesses offering seasonal food and drink options, blending holiday cheer with opportunities to support local spots along the way.

Participating businesses include Nation’s Giant Hamburgers, HTeaO, Hat Creek Burger Company, Cane Rosso, Haus of Boba, Black Rock Coffee Bar and Sachse Nutrition.

The Trail of Lights map is available through cityofsachse.com as well as social media and will remain live through early January, giving residents plenty of time to take in the sights throughout the holiday season.

Holiday festivities began at the Sachse Community Center, where Christmas trees decorated by local groups and businesses lined a hallway as part of the city’s Dec. 3, Christmas Extravaganza. Visitors were invited to admire the creative designs and vote for their favorites.

This year’s first-place honors went to the Sachse High School Band Boosters, followed by the Fleur de Lis Garden Club in second place. Sachse Animal Services earned third place for its festive display.
