GISD names SHS gym after former principal

Garland ISD trustees recognized student achievements, reviewed financial and safety reports, and considered several action items, including naming proposals.

During its Dec. 16 regular meeting, trustees recognized winners of the district’s 2025 Holiday Card Contest and honored the UIL middle school one-act play champions. More than 30 elementary campuses participated in the holiday card contest, which featured a wide range of student artwork using a variety of media. This year’s winners are Hazel Convery of Luna Elementary School, Emma Noguez of Weaver Elementary School and Vivian Vu of Hillside Academy for Excellence.
