First place in District 9-6A continues to belong to the Sachse girls soccer team (13-2, 7-0).

The Lady Mustangs faced little resistance in cruising to a pair of shutout victories last week, posting 8-0 wins over North Garland and South Garland on back-to-back nights before finishing the week with a 7-0 rout of Naaman Forest.

Kate McCallister scored eight goals across the three games, four against South Garland. Clara Dowdle had a hat trick against North Garland and added two more goals in the win over Naaman Forest. Lia Lopez netted two goals in the victory over Naaman Forest.

Meanwhile, the Sachse boys soccer team is in the thick of the battle for the district crown.

The Mustangs are 5-1-1 in District 9-6A.

The Mustangs’ latest win was a 1-1 (3-1 penalty kicks) shootout win over Naaman Forest on Friday. Senior Daniel Dominguez scored the only goal in regulation for Sachse.

Earlier in the week, Sachse posted back-to-back shutout win over North Garland and South Garland. Senior Julian Hinojosa scored two goals in the 3-0 win over North Garland. Hinojosa and junior Aiden Ronquillo each had one goal in Sachse’s 2-0 triumph over South Garland.
