Sachse rolled to a 10-0 win over Garland in its District 9-6A opener. Cade Buckley, Tucker Zumwalt and Alex Moreno combined on a no-hitter with six strikeouts.
Offensively, Sachse won with balance. Every Mustang had at least one hit, with two apiece from Jacob Ponce and Julian Moreno.
Later in the week, Sachse competed at a tournament in Celina, where the Mustangs went 3-2 with wins over Prosper Richland (11-4), Frisco (10-5) and Fort Worth Christian (8-5).
Ponce hit a home run and drove in three runs against Richland, while Greyson Darden accounted for two of Sachse’s doubles. Ponce also homered against Frisco. Darden recorded two doubles, three hits and four RBIs in the Mustangs’ win over Fort Worth Christian.
