The Sachse girls soccer team defeated Duncanville in a shootout Tuesday in Mesquite to advance to the Region II-6A Division I semifinals.
The Lady Mustangs led 1-0 at halftime, but the Pantherettes answered with a goal in the second half, eventually forcing overtime and later a shootout.
Sachse defeated Duncanville 6-5 in penalty kicks.
It was the 21st straight win for the Lady Mustangs (24-2), who haven’t lost since Jan. 6.
Sachse will play The Woodlands at 6 p.m. Friday at the Tomato Bowl in Jacksonville. The game is a rematch of last season’s Region I-6A final, won by The Woodlands, 1-0.
