Sachse’s softball team hit the ball hard last week, notching eight extra-base hits, including two home runs by Maya McClarity and another by Jaycie Watson, in a 13-3 run-rule win over Wylie East last Thursday.

McClarity’s first home run – a three-run home run – gave the Lady Mustangs a 5-0 lead in the second inning. Her second home run increased Sachse’s lead to 10-3. Watson followed with a solo home run of her own to give the Lady Mustangs an 11-3 lead.

Earlier in the game, Wylie East cut Sachse’s lead from 6-0 to 6-3 after Kinley Kovar hit a two-run double.

Sachse finished last week with two wins.

The Lady Mustangs had little trouble with Lakeview Centennial in a 20-3 win.  A 10-run outburst in the top of the first proved to be the difference. Kendyl Cruz finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a home run. McClarity also hit a home run and finished with two hits and six RBIs.

Watson struck out eight and allowed one earned run over five innings.
