The Sachse boys and girls soccer teams both won the District 9-6A title this season, and the Lady Mustangs went on make their first-ever appearance in the state semifinals.
Coaches in the district rewarded the Mustangs with selections on the all-district team.
Sachse senior midfielder Kate McCallister was named the Most Valuable Player of District 9-6A. The Oklahoma pledge scored 45 goals and added 16 assists, helping lead the Lady Mustangs to a perfect 16-0 district record.
Sachse also earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Senior forward/defender Kylee Blair, senior forward Talya Chacon, senior midfielder Clara Dowdle, junior midfielder Lia Lopez, sophomore midfielder Emma Ramirez and senior defender Sierra Rush were named to the first team.
Sophomore midfielder Ariana Arias, junior defender Bianca Cruz, senior defenders Allyson Santos and Emma Fleming, and senior forward Brecklyn White were named to the second team. Senior goalkeeper Kennedy Harris and sophomore goalkeeper Sydney Miller earned honorable-mention honors.
Sachse, fresh off winning its first district title in five years, had three superlative winners. Senior forward Julian Hinojosa was named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year after posting a team-high 14 goals. Junior Jovanni Vazquez, the Co-Defensive Player of the Year, helped anchor a Mustang defense that recorded 11 shutouts. Sophomore Josiah Alvarez was named the 9-6A Goalkeeper of the Year.
Earning first-team honors for Sachse were junior forward/center back Aiden Ronquillo, senior striker Cameron Sparks, senior midfielder Daniel Dominguez and senior center midfielder Diego Hernandez.
Senior midfielder Ahmad Elatrash and senior defenders Noah Escalante and Steven Castillo were named to the second team, while junior striker Andres Ocampo, junior midfielder/forward Shane Logan and sophomore utility player Jonathan Pacheco earned honorable-mention honors.
