ROYSE CITY – Coming off strong team performances at the District 9-6A track and field meet, Sachse set five school records at last week’s area 9-6A/10-6A meet at Royse City ISD Stadium.
Senior Cameryn Fair won the long jump with a school-record mark of 19-7.25 and also teamed with Channing Phillips, Jaeda Bradshaw and Sydney Funston to set a record in the 4×100 (46.88). Fair finished with four regional qualifications, also winning the 100 (11.91) and placing fourth in the 200 (25.12).
Bradshaw added another regional qualification in the 100 (third, 11.93).
Sophomore Dominic Richardson surged late to win the 1,600 in a school-record 4:18.21. Junior Samuel Ledbetter set a school record in the 3,200, placing second in 9:32.28. Junior Abigail Leonard set a school record in the 1,600 (5:07.7), placing fourth, and added a third-place finish in the 3,200 (11:27.06).
Sophomore Arora Dinh Ngo placed fourth in the 3,200 (11:46.69), sophomore Alicia Payne took fourth in the 800 (2:21.05), and Sachse’s 4×200 relay of Marcus Rhoden, Julian Madison, Kaeden Swann and Jonathan Ayle placed fourth (1:26.39).
