GISD approves raises, honors former trustee

The Garland ISD Board of Trustees approved salary increases for district employees and recognized a longtime former trustee during its Tuesday, April 28 meeting.

Trustees unanimously approved the 2026-27 salary schedules and compensation handbook, which includes pay increases for district staff. The plan provides a 4% raise for professional and paraprofessional campus staff, a 4% step increase for teachers and a 4% increase for all other employees.

Under the teacher retention allotment, employees with three to four years of service will receive $2,500, while those with five or more years will receive $5,000.
