Sachse residents start can start cleaning out those closets and garages as the annual “Clean Up Green Up” event is less than a month away.
Scheduled for April 9 at Sachse City Hall, the event will feature multiple activities and fun for all.
“Spring is upon us,” Mayor Mike Felix said. “ There are so many fun activities for Sachse families to take part in this spring.
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can drop off their trash, debris, brush, e-waste, hazardous household waste and documents for shredding at the City Hall complex. Trucks and collection bins from Republic Services, formerly Allied Waste, will be arranged along the driveway surrounding the complex to accept the material. The free service is reserved for Sachse residents only.
Next up, at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. volunteers will participate in the “Arbor Day Jubilee: Team Up and Cleanup” event by combing areas of the city to pick up trash and litter, including the various creek beds and waterways within the city limits.
Following the collection, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., volunteers will meet at City Hall to drop off the waste and enjoy a free lunch at the amphitheater.
Sachse’s inaugural H2O XPO Expo providing demonstrations, exhibits and expert advice on household water management will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m.
