Favor Anyanwu has experienced a lot of winning on the volleyball court.

Anyanwu, a 2024 graduate of Sachse High School, helped to lead the Lady Mustangs to an overall record of 126-38, four district titles and four playoff appearances during her four seasons playing middle blocker/outside hitter. Sachse advanced to the third round of the third round of the playoffs all four years and to the fourth round during her freshman, sophomore and senior seasons.

On Sunday, July 27, Anyanwu helped the U.S. Women’s U21 national team complete its undefeated run to win the gold medal at the 2025 NORCECA Women’s U21 Pan American Cup with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-13) championship match victory over Chile on Sunday in San Jose, Costa Rica. The U.S. finished the tournament without losing a set in its five matches and won its third straight Pan Am title, after winning in 2022 and 2023.

Anyanwu was named second Best Middle Blocker.

Anyanwu and opposite Jadyn Livings shared match-high honors with 13 points each. Anyanwu led all players with four blocks, adding eight kills, and the championship-clinching ace.

The Sachse product will return to the Dallas area and play for SMU this upcoming season after playing her freshman season at USC.

In her lone season at USC, Anyanwu played in 24 matches, saw action in 80 of 122 sets, averaged 1.66 kills per set and recorded 85 blocks and 13 digs, notched a career-high 11 kills and hit .526 at Pepperdine on Aug. 31, 2024, and tallied a career-high nine blocks against Kansas State on Sept. 6.
