Gov. Greg Abbott on Friday called lawmakers back to the Capitol for a second special session, setting forth 19 agenda items he said are critical to addressing recent disasters and longstanding policy goals.
The session began at noon on August 15, following a weeks-long standoff with House Democrats whom Abbott accused of obstructing progress by refusing to attend the Legislature’s first special session earlier this summer.
