by | Aug 21, 2025 | Latest

Based on the proposed budget, the median homestead property tax bill would rise from $2,590 to $2,768, an increase of $178.

Sachse residents will have a chance to weigh in on the city’s proposed operating budget for fiscal year 2025-26 during a public hearing set for Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Sachse City Hall, 3815-B Sachse Road.

According to the notice, the proposed budget will raise $1,376,721 more in property tax revenue than last year, a 4.77 percent increase.

Of that total, $579,687 will come from new property added to the tax roll this year.

Based on the proposed budget, the median homestead property tax bill would rise from $2,590 to $2,768, an increase of $178. If the city were to adopt the no-new revenue rate instead, the median bill would be $2,798, up $208 from the current year.

Copies of the proposed budget are available for public review at the City Secretary’s Office and the Sachse Public Library, both located on Sachse Road, as well as on the city’s website at www.cityofsachse.com/budget.

Residents are invited to attend the Sept. 2 hearing and offer comments.
