In a series of recorded votes requiring each member to state their vote publicly, Sachse City Council has approved the city’s budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1.
Council cast the votes at its Monday, Sept. 15 regular meeting, approving all items unanimously as City Secretary Leah Granger called on members individually.
The first item adopted the budget for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2026. The second set the ad valorem municipal tax rate at 65.0416 cents per $100 of assessed property valuation. The maintenance and operation rate will be 45.6209 cents, while the debt service rate stands at 19.4207 cents. The total city tax rate remains unchanged from the current year. A third item approved the total property tax amount increase for the coming fiscal year.
