Wylie ISD trustees are considering several new measures to save money in the upcoming school year.
The Board of Trustees convened for its final meeting of the year during a special called meeting Monday, Dec. 8. Trustees unanimously approved three items: the 2024-25 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, a November library purchase and the district’s use of the MAP Local Assessment Instrument tool. The financial report, originally scheduled for October, was delayed by the federal government shutdown.
Paul Fleming of Edgin Parkman Fleming & Fleming presented the audit, showing the district ended the previous school year with a roughly $4.6 million deficit. Place 1 board member Stacie Smith asked whether the audit raised concerns, but Fleming said it did not.
