Sachse residents will once again have the opportunity to give back to their community during the annual Arbor Day Jubilee: Team Up & Clean Up event.
Scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, April 25, volunteers will gather at the Michael J. Felix Community Center to take part in the citywide effort, held in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup. Participants will assist with various projects aimed at enhancing the community, spreading out to pick up trash in parks, roadways and waterways through out the city, while also celebrating Arbor Day with the distribution of free gift trees on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event has drawn strong community support in the past. Last year, approximately 260 volunteers representing 21 groups participated, with attendees enjoying a free breakfast and coffee courtesy.
Residents interested in participating can register their family or group by calling the Sachse Parks and Recreation Department at 469-429-0275 or by completing an online form. Additional event details will be provided upon registration.
