With early voting complete, Sachse residents will make their final trip to the polls Saturday, May 2, for the general election. Voting will be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Sachse voters will decide several local races, including two contested City Council seats. For Place 3, incumbent Frank Millsap faces challenger Laura Tovar. In the Place 4 race, Alan Bell, Beau Hooten, Tim Legh-Page and Gurvinder Singh are on the ballot.
Residents in Garland ISD also will vote in school board elections. Incumbent Daphne Stanley faces Timm Parr for Place 4, while Jamie Miller is unopposed in the Place 5 race.
Dallas County voters living in Sachse may cast ballots at any county vote center. Locations within the city limits include Sachse City Hall, Courtroom, 3815-B Sachse Road; BG Hudson Middle School, Practice Gym, 4405 Hudson Drive; and First United Methodist Church of Sachse, Gym, 1520 Blackburn Road.
Collin County voters may cast ballots at any county vote center. Within Sachse, voting will be available at the Michael J. Felix Community Center, Room A/B, 3815-E Sachse Road.
Under Texas law, voters casting ballots in person are required to present an approved photo ID. Acceptable forms include a Texas driver license, Texas personal ID card, Texas handgun license, U.S. passport, U.S. military ID card with photograph, U.S. citizenship certificate with photograph, or a Texas Election Identification Certificate. Voters who do not possess one of the approved IDs and cannot reasonably obtain one may complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration and present a supporting document, such as a utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or voter registration certificate.
Early voting for the election began April 20 and ended Tuesday, April 28, with multiple polling locations available to residents in both Collin and Dallas counties.
Voters are encouraged to verify their registration status and county voting locations before heading to the polls Saturday.
